COLLECT THE SAMPLE

Collect the sample according to the guidelines listed below. Collect samples from the cleanest, least-damaged area of the claim.
For flooring, corners and closets typically yield samples with little wear from foot traffic.

PHOTOS AND SKETCH

As many insurers now allow the flooring retailers to complete quotes based on the contractor information.
Sending through quality photos and legible sketches (jpg or pdf) through the ICC online request form may expedite quote cycle time.

COMPLETE ONLINE REQUEST FORM

As quickly as possible, complete an online request form to provide ICC with your and the claim’s information.
The quicker you fill out this form, the quicker the ICC retailer will be engaged to quote the replacement

SHIP SAMPLES

Sending samples to ICC directly through Purolator is the fastest method of shipping and will reduce overall cycle time

SAMPLE TESTED AT ICC

Our lab immediately tags each sample with a unique number for tracking and begins the analysis. Samples are stored for a minimum of 60 days at ICC.

REPORT

All validation reports are sent out via email the same day ICC receives a sample.

Sample Sizes

CARPET AND PAD

4″ x 4″ with as little residue and wear from traffic or damage as possible. If a patterned carpet, a larger sample may be required, but good quality photos are important when filling out the online request form.

VINYL SHEET

4″ x 4″ or larger if patterns need to be seen. As some patterns may contain different construction methods, include a portion of the pattern if available. Collect from the least-damaged, least-worn area of the floor.

LVT / LVP

Collect 6” of length and the full width of a vinyl tile or plank, including the locking mechanism (if it exists). Collect from the least-damaged and least-worn area of the floor.

LAMINATE AND HARDWOOD

Collect 6″ of length and the full width of the plank including the locking mechanism (tongue and groove). Collect from the least-damaged and least-worn area of the floor. Please also send in a pad sample if it exists.

CERAMIC, PORCELAIN, AND STONE TILES

Collect a 4×4″ inch piece of tile with the least amount of destruction on the top surface is preferred. You will be prompted to include the following information: Size Measurements. Photo(s) showing measuring tape for sizing is suggested. Wide view photo(s) of room with floor pre tear out is suggested. Photo(s) of top view is suggested. ICC is not currently validating wall tiles or natural stone tiles.
